HELLO! I’m Lauren.
It means the world that you’ve come here to learn a little more about me and what I’m passionate about! Photography means so much to me because of the stories I get to capture, but it’s really the people I get to build relationships with that make it more fulfilling than anything. If you’re looking for a photographer who cares just as much about getting to know your story as the service you’re investing in, then we will get along very well.
Some facts about me:
- My faith is the foundation on which I run my business and live my life. My goal is to reflect Jesus in all that I do and to every person I get the chance to meet!
- I grew up in Indiana, moved to Michigan to pursue wedding photography full-time after college, met my husband, and recently moved to the lovely state of Tennessee. Many ask what brought us here: to get away from the long frigid winters, plant roots in the mountains, and pave the way for our friends and family to do the same (hint, hint).
- Meeting new people energizes me.
I definitely value alone time, but my weakness is saying no to a good social gathering and/or spontaneous hangout.
- Neutrals are my jam. This goes for the style of my home, the colors of my outfits, and the tones I gravitate to in nature and my work.
- Yes, I’ve photographed a lot of people, but full transparency: I think I’ve taken more photos of my morning coffee, evening wine/cocktails, and sunlight streaming through the windows of my home than anything else in the world.
You’ll see a plethora of this on my social media feed. I am not sorry.
- There is a time and place for surface level conversation, but it is rare that is all I have with the people that I meet. I go deep. And I thrive on true connection with all people.
- Beyond my thoughtful nature and tendency to go deep, I think it’s important you know that I have do have a light hearted, fun, and spontaneous side. I love to crack jokes and have fun… and I do speak the language of sarcasm on occasion…. (okay, a lot of occasions).
- I am extroverted, full of energy, and a glass-half-full kind of person 99% of the time.
There is so much more I’d like to share, but I’ll let my long-winded nature take a backseat for the sake of getting to the heart of why I do what I do (and letting you get on with your day)…
I believe that when most people hire a photographer, they know that investing in high quality images is just as important as investing in the person behind the lens. If we get a chance to work together, I want you to feel like you’ve gained more than just photos you can cherish or hang on the walls of your home; I want you to feel like you’ve gained a friend. Building a relationship like this not only creates a space where you feel comfortable and valued, but also a space where we both feel trusted.
The photographer you hire should never feel like a stranger and they should care just as much about providing a service as they should about building a relationship where you feel valued, trusted, and understood.
That is how I roll.
If this is the kind of relationship you’re looking for in a photographer, please reach out through my contact page! Let’s set up a phone call, grab a drink (coffee or adult beverages, it’s all fair game), or maybe even throw some food into the mix. I want to get to know you and tell your story.
I can’t wait to meet you!
